I have the same issues at work. I give my best effort and keep various groups and BANKS afloat. I design things and implement them without approval, saving or even making my company money.

But I am the most under-appreciated person here.

In fact, showing initiative is actually defined, in corporations, as someone who can agree with policy and make it work faster than the others, not actually FIXING or CREATING anything. I’ve taken the initiative and been called an “impulsive troublemaker who goes around management.”

Fuck ‘em.

So now I sit here doing whatever needs to be done but not going out of my way to do anything special anymore, just drawing a large paycheck for surfing the net and playing Tribes whenever I can on the company LAN (and chatting).

You have a decent work ethic and skills. Go work for Lockheed Martin, Oracle or someone who will pay you nicely for your skills.

It’s going to be funny to watch them implode once D and P are both gone.
