This is handy if you lost your admin or any password: Instructions for changing account passwords in Single User mode in 10.3.x: 1.) Apple key+S (during boot) -->boot into Single User mode 2.) fsck -y --> Check discs 3.) mount -uw / --> Mounts Fixed disc with read/write enabled 4.) /usr/libexec/register_mach_bootstrap_servers /etc/mach_init.d --> Register mach services, required in 10.3 or later 5.) cd /var/db/netinfo --> change to netinfo folder 6.) netinfod -s local --> loads netinfo db 7.) systemstarter --> loads a bunch of services, not really sure if it's required 8.) passwd USERNAME --> Username is equal to the short name of the account you wish to edit 9.) It will ask for you new password twice.... type it in... 10.) reboot --> will reboot the machine, wait for login screen 11.) Login with new password! Have wonderful admin rights!
